기타리스트 없는 락밴드 벤폴즈 파이브 해체 후 발매한 벤 폴즈의 1집
'Rockin' the Suburbs'

밴 폴즈 파이브의 실질적인 해체 원인은 벤 폴즈가 결혼 후 호주에 정착을 한 것 때문인 것으로 알려졌다..

벤 폴즈는 이 앨범에서 보컬과 피아노 외에도 위 사진과 같이 기타와 드럼 등 다른 악기들가지 연주하며 원맨 밴드로서 거듭난다...

수록곡들 중 'Still Fighting It'은 피아노 반주에 어쿠스틱 기타와 일렉트릭 기타가 어우러져 아름다운 멜로디를 만들어내며 단연 귀에 쏙 들어온다.

이 곡은 벤 폴즈가 그의 아들을 위해 쓴 곡인데, 어렵지 않은 가사를 읽고 듣다보면 내 마음도 별반 다르지 않다는게 느껴진다..

얼마 전 내한공연도 성공리에 끝낸 벤 폴즈...
어쨎든 우리나라 공연시장은 점점 더 풍성해 지는것 같다.
